The Honeywell STT170 series is an affordable and programmable temperature transmitter designed for reliable temperature measurements in a wide range of industrial applications. As an entry-level model within the STT3000 series, the STT170 cost-effectively complements the more advanced STT700, STT750 and STT850 models. The transmitter is ideally suited for OEMs and end users looking for a robust temperature monitoring solution - particularly in environments with electrical noise or where long cable lengths are required.

Compared to directly connected temperature sensors, the STT170 series offers higher measurement accuracy, increased safety and improved reliability, while simultaneously reducing cabling costs. The transmitters automatically perform linearization of the output signal within the user-set range (between lower and upper limits), and also support programmable alarm functions for high or low limits in the event of sensor failure.

These features make the STT170 an ideal choice for applications in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical and power generation industries, among others.

The STT170 series consists of three temperature transmitters and one configuration tool:

• STT171 - Analog output, suitable for RTD sensors only.

• STT173 - Analog output, suitable for RTD or thermocouple sensors

• STT17H - HART output, suitable for both RTD and thermocouple sensors

• STT17C - PC-based configuration tool for setting up the STT171, STT173 and STT17H transmitters.
