Company History

1955

Founding

In the post-war period, European industry had to be completely rebuilt following the devastation suffered during World War II. Gérard Blondeau - then working for Electro-Navale & Industrie - saw opportunities in this and in 1955, with his sons Antoine, Guy and Louis, founded the private limited company G. Blondeau & Sons to supply the industry with specific solutions for heating challenges.

The company grew rapidly and always managed to adapt to the latest techniques in industrial heating and burner technology.

1976

New heating concept in Belgium

Started as a distributor in Belgium of the American company RAY (rotary burners), Blondeau & Zonen was chosen in 1976 to be the first to introduce a new heating concept on the Belgian market : the gas-fired dark radiant tubes GAS-RAD. This system would soon - in the midst of an oil crisis - prove its worth in the economical heating of industrial spaces.

1987

Eclipse

In 1987, the world-renowned ECLIPSE joined forces with Blondeau : this allowed them to solve virtually all problems in industrial process applications.

Over the years, the Danish DANTHERM (W.L. generators) and the French SOLARONICS (gas-fired radiant heaters and air heaters), came to broaden the range.

1998

Moving to Lint

In 1998, we moved from the heart of Antwerp to larger industrial premises in Lint, which assured us more storage space and allowed us to build complete industrial burner systems in-house.

2000

The 3rd generation

In 2000, Louis Blondeau - after a successful policy of 45 years with emphasis on quality and customer service - passed the torch to his 2 sons Jean & Guy.

2016

Honewell Thermal Solutions & 4th Generation

Following the acquisitions of Eclipse Combustion by Elster in 2015 and of Elster by Honeywell in 2016, we have become the official authorized partner of Honeywell Thermal Solutions (HTS - Eclipse, Maxon, Elster, Kromschröder, Jeavons, Hauck) for Belgium.

With the arrival of Matthieu in 2016, the 4° generation joined the company.

2023

Looking to the future

In 2023, the management team was strengthened with the arrival of Alexis Roba, who co-invests in the company. This ensures the continuity and future of the company.
