The Elster EK220 is a battery-powered volume converter that can be easily mounted on gas meters from Elster or other manufacturers. The device is powered by a lithium battery with a minimum service life of five years (optional external power supply of 5-10 VDC, max. 30 mA is possible). The device records low-frequency operating volume pulses from a gas meter, measures the operating pressure and temperature of the gas, and calculates the compressibility and conversion factor. From these data, standard volumes, standard volume flows and operating volume flows can be calculated. The volume converter consists of a central unit with an integrated or external pressure sensor and a temperature sensor. The EK220, in the version without a pressure sensor, can also be used as a temperature converter. In addition to volume correction and data recording, the EK220 can be used for the flexible recording of various measurements and, in combination with a modem or RTU, for system monitoring.
